How long can patients live with Parkinson's?

There isn’t a simple answer, as it depends on the type and characteristics of each case 2. Some people live to the same age as those who don’t have the disease. It seems that individuals with Parkinson’s disease who experience difficulties with thinking or memory have a lower life expectancy than those with normal cognitive function 1,2. One study of patients that was undertaken recently in Sweden showed that patients with Parkinson disease presenting with normal cognitive function seem to have a largely normal life expectancy 2.
