Navigating OFF in Practice: A Case‑Based Scottish MDT Webcast

Description:
This event will bring together Parkinson’s disease Nurse Specialist (Nick Bryden, NHS Ayrshire and Arran) and a Consultant Neurologist (Dr David Breen, NHS Lothian) to explore the real-world identification and management of OFF episodes in Parkinson's disease. Through a series of case vignettes, the speakers will discuss practical approaches to challenging clinical scenarios – including patients presenting with OFFs for the first time, those with complex comorbidities, and patients where access to specialist services is limited.

Objectives:
- Facilitate discussion on improving recognition and management of OFF episodes in Parkinson’s disease, incorporating neurologist and PD nurse specialist perspectives.
- Explore practical, real-world management approaches through case-based discussion.
- Engage a multidisciplinary Scottish audience to enhance identification and management of OFF episodes within NHS Scotland.
- Increase awareness of the clinical and quality-of-life impact of unrecognised or sub-optimally managed OFF episodes.
- Identify barriers to timely recognition and management, and explore multidisciplinary solutions within the Scottish healthcare setting.
