This non-promotional, medical educational event will bring together a Parkinson’s Nurse Specialist (Kate Golding), Consultant Neurologist (Professor Alan Whone) and a Frailty Pharmacist (Hippolyte Fraser) to explore the real-world variation in clinical decision making in Parkinson’s.

Through a series of clinical statements, the speakers and the audience will cast their votes, sparking debate and aiming to reach consensus on how and when to move beyond baseline therapy. The aim of this webcast is to support clinicians in making informed treatment decisions for people living with Parkinson’s.

Objectives:

- Identify clinical indicators that suggest levodopa monotherapy is no longer providing adequate motor control
- Compare the mechanisms, evidence base and patient selection criteria for adjunct therapies
- Evaluate the role of rescue therapy in patients with wearing off or unpredictable off episodes, recognising barriers to its use in practice
- Reflect on their own prescribing practice considering peer-led discussions during the session
- Apply a more robust decision-making framework to therapy selection across a range of patient presentations
